The Enterprise

Carl KRAFFT & Söhne GmbH & Co. KG was established 1870 as a foundry and engineering company. The medium sized enterprise with more than 100 employees has, in the mean time, left the wide spread product range of a plant manufacturer and has specialised in the production of rotation-symmetrical components that go up to dimensions of Ø 5.500mm and 15.000mm length.

Due to these production facilities, KRAFFT meets the demand of different sectors and applications. The foil- and the chipboard-industries are the main customers for the rolls of about 20 - 30 tons per item.

Nevertheless KRAFFT is still dealing a lot with the paper-industry, which requires, besides the rolls themselves, a lot of service and repairs. Upon request, KRAFFT also designs conversions, expansions and the modernisation of existing paper or cardboard machines.

KRAFFT has not only revised its product range in the past years, but has also adapted its production facilities. The original site has been refurbished and converted, and a new manufacturing plant has been built. In 1999 KRAFFT took over KELZENBERG + CO., a local competitor.

The management has been taken over by Mr. Michael Hess, a descendant of the founder and the companies shares are divided amongst himself and his sister, Alice Speth.
